Now Big Labor beats dissenters

From: Why Big Labor couldn’t match Glenn Beck’s rally | The Daily Caller – Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment.

According to this source, cavalierly given by the Huffington Post, Big Labor is aging, shrinking and split. Well, What I thought I knew was that Big Labor was getting bigger and bigger as goverment expands, i.e., creates more bureaucracy. Having leverage in the goverment agencies and enough power to coerce and dictate policies was the only things the unions needed. After that, who cares what happens in the private sector? It has never been about the numbers but location.

Because the best program its leaders (and co-sponsors at the NAACP) could put together was one featuring Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Richard Trumka, Van Jones and Harry Belafonte.
Completely agree, Sharpton, Jackson and Van Jones can only preach to the already converted, not to the mainstream. And what about Belafonte?
And because George W. Bush is no longer in the White House. Put those factors together, and Big Labor’s big march fell flat.
That nails it. It seems that with the boogeyman Dubya out of the picture, it is not funny anymore. In Belafonte’s case, with a HUGE Wikipedia entry about his anti-Bush activism, it must feel so empty without him.
Sorry, but this is just another racket going, this time with public servants less and less concerned about serving the public and more about grabbing more and more power and money.
